Acupuncture and Laser Therapy
Dr Dickmann and Dr Priest are registered acupuncturists with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia
They studied acupuncture under Prof Dr Sir Anton Jayasuriya, at the Medicine Alternativa Institute of Acupuncture, Kalubowila SouthGovernmentTeachingHospital Colombo, where over 2 million people have been treated with acupunctuere.
Medicina Alternativa was set up in 1962 under the auspices of the World Health Organization at Alma Ata USSR to teach acupuncture and alternative medicine to registered health professionals. This was the first official acupuncture course taught outside of China. It was the same course as that taught at the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing.
Acupuncture is a traditional form of oriental medicine which consists of inserting a very fine needle at specific points on the skin. There are many different acupuncture methods such as , needling, lasertherapy, electrotherapy cupping and so on
Acupunture is a complete system of medicine, with a range of applications just as wide as that of western medicine. A doctor who combines western medicine with acupuncture can therefore select the most appropriate treatment in any particular case. He/she will be able to treat a wide variety of diseases of any part or system of the body in the best way possible.
